The Application of modbus TCP in hmi

Ⅰ. Reasons for WECON hmi choosing modbus TCP/IP
1. The application layer of WECON HMI makes use of Modbus TCP, which makes industrial Ethernet data exchange achievable.
2. It’s easier to interconnect with different systems: available to management network, real-time monitoring network and field devices communication.
3. Low cost of network’s implementation: available to apply a common network component.
4. High data rate: high transmission capacity, the transmission result of 100M Ethernet is 4000 Modbus TCP messages per second, while each message can transfer 125 words, which is equivalent to 4000×125=500000 analog data (8000000 switch).
  
Ⅱ. Parameter Settings
   The case here PC is set as Slave(lower computer), and touch panel as Master(upper computer).In this way, PC can communicate with HMI.
   The IP address of PC is set: 192.168.1.2. The two screens of project is edited by the use of WECON configuration software, the device type of one is chosen ModBus TCP Slave, the other is ModBus TCP Master.
   The project of Slave is downloaded to HMI and Master’s is simulated online.The network of HMI and PC are connected by communication cable.

 * Setting of HMI project
   The setting of communication port configuration: 
   The communication port is selected Ethernet and device type is ModBus TCP Slave. The Ethernet parameter is set: 192.168.1.2:502(this IP address should be the same to PC’s). The network type is set: TCP_Client_2N. The setting is as shown in figure 1.

 * Setting of PC project
   The setting of communication port configuration: the communication port is selected Ethernet and device type is ModBus TCP Master.The Ethernet parameter is set: 192.168.1.201:502(As long as this IP address is different from HMI’s in the same network segment). The network type is set: TCP_Client_2N. The setting is as shown in figure 4.

Ⅲ. Conclusion

  
 Modbus protocol is field-bus protocol which only consists of physical layer and data layer. It’s particularly suitable for the application situation with simple architecture and low cost. Through supporting Modbus TCP/IP protocol, WECON touch panel is able to communicate with PC and other devices.It not only reduces the cost of system design, but also increases the versatility of the equipment, which provides convenience for users.

The Application of WECON HMI in Winding Machine

(1) Process automation analysis
 
A. The winding machine is to roll a large-area flake material up according to some methods.
B. The winding machine is mainly used for hose lines, nylon polyester, polyester strings winding, high-tech fibers, coating, artificial turf silk yarn, lithium ion battery production, coating glass fiber, monofilament, multifilament, flat silk (multifilament or more single line pounds), wrong type spindle spinning, etc.
C. The most important performance index of fixed-length winding is the accuracy of winding and the good consistency of the finished product.
D. The winding machine supports continuous setting. If the real winding length has biased error, then we can correct it though setting the parameters.
 
(2) Operating Environment
 
The machine shall be installed in a dry, ventilated, good-light and easy operating place.   
 
(3) Function Description
Considering the present situation that the current machine is prone to have single point of failure, the winding machine has integrated most advanced technical achievements and hardware and software design. WECON HMI in Full Automatic Winding Machine

(1) Introduction
Winding machine is generally divided into three types according to different industry classifications: lithium battery winding machine, capacitor winding machine, and textile winding machine. The WECON touch screen is used in the lithium battery winding machine.

(2) Features
a. Full automatic winding machine is applied in the lithium battery industry. It has rich features, high working efficiency, and achieves a full automation.
b. The touch screen utilizes WECON 102A series. With dual serial ports, it can communicate Omron CS1 series PLC.
c. The functions of engineering interface are rich, including parameter settings, machine running operation, status monitoring, and data storage, and view.

(3) Components

3.1. Figure 1 shows the automatically running monitor screen. Users can visually see the product production as well as part of the parameter settings. Besides, they can jump to another function screen at any time to do corresponding operation.

Figure 2 shows the parameter setting screen so that users can set the engineering parameters for each process of the automatic winding machine, the working condition of which meets customers’ expectations. There are too many parameters for the winding machine to be mentioned here.

Figure 3 shows the manual operation screen so that users can turn to specify actions for machine adjustment or machine failure.

The Application of WECON hmi in Tunneling Machine


(1) Introduction

Tunneling machine is used to excavate tunnels. It can be divided into two types: open-type tunneling machine and shielded tunneling machine. It typically consists of the running gear, the working mechanism, the shipping mechanism and the transshipment mechanism. With the running gear moving forward, the cutter head in the working mechanism constantly crushes rocks and ship them off. 
The machine is safe, efficient and of good quality. However, it is expensive, has complex structures, and large loss too.

(2) Strengths and composition

2.1 Strengths
    a. ensure the stability of the roadway
    b. the advance rate is fast
    c. the roadway is of good shape
    d. improve the working conditions

2.2 Composition: cutting unit, shovel plate unit, the main body unit, the walking unit, the posterior support, the first conveyor, hydraulic systems, water systems, electrical systems, and lubrication systems.

(3) Main features

3.1 The whole structure of the machine is compact and the layout is reasonable. It has good rigidity, high strength and strong climbing ability, can stably operate and is easy and simple to maintain.
3.2 The cutting motor has large power, which is double water-cooled motor with complete protection.    
3.3 Both the first conveyor and the shovel star wheel adopt low speed high torque hydraulic motor for direct drive, which is of simple structure and less failure. 
3.4 External and internal fog systems are complete; the internal fog system has functions of water leakage detection and protection.
3.5 The electrical system uses WECON touch screen accredited by intrinsic safety, which has a character dynamic display character.

Wecon hmi alarm record uploading instruction

Alarm upload

1 The settings in Levi Studio

1.1 Select the modbus tcp slave protocol


1.2 Set HMI name

【Setting】/Project parameters】/General Property】/Advanced setting】/HMI name】
Note: the name must be unique and its length can not be more than 30 characters.(15 chinese characters).


1.3 Set the alarm item wanted

【Project configuration】/bit alarm area】/【add】
Click “Upload”, write the upload address. Note: the address must be the modbus TCP word address

2 Checking Alarm record in PC

Double-click this software to check. When close the software, the alarm data can not be upload to PC.Clicking on the HMI name can check the relative alarm information.
The alarm data is saved in “log” of the software directory. Backup the data at regular interval, then delete the folder. The dat file can in Log can be opened by Excel.

3 Notice

When use the alarm record, check wether the firewall of the PC supports the software. Look over wether 502 port is used by other programs.

How to upload project to PC

If you want upload project to PC, there will be two steps. UPLOA&DECOMPILE
First step: upload project to pc, then you will get a bmt file.

2 Click on 
3 Click on HMI->PU(U)
4 Choose the way you want to save the bmt file.
5 Then click on HMI->;PU(U).
Second steps: project decompile, then you will get the project
1 Open levi studio
2 Click on
 
3 Then click on Project Decompile
4 The tool will appear
5 Please choose the way you save the bmt file click on VIEW
6 Choose the Save Path, click on View
7 Save the new project
8 Click on Start Decompile
9 Open the project from the save way. Project->Open Project

How to set address mapping on Wecon HMI

How to map
Click on Settings-->;Address Mapping
Click Word Addr to set word address mapping
Here
Source addresses are the external addresses.
Target addresses are the external addresses such as HDW7.
Mapping mode are read and write by default.
Now Length 
If you set length 1 ,source address 421 , target address HDW21
That means the address HDW21 maps 421, only one address mapping.
If you set length 2, source address 47, target address HDW7.
That means the address HDW7 maps the address47 and the address HDW8 maps the address 48, two addresses mapping.
Tip: the biggest length is 20.

Wecon LEVI-777T Bus Paperless Recorde

LEVI 777T has a socket to interface the high capacity CF card, it also can monitor multiple data collection modules via RS485 BUS. The collection data can be saved into the CF card, the data type is CSV format or encrypted CSV format. The collection data can be exported to USB disk and processed it in the PC.
LEVI series HMI supports maximum 4G bytes CF card, and can save maximum 5 years data. And in HMI, you can query the data by history data reports, history trend graph components.

Wecon HMI Multi-link instruction

1. Notes
Use of multi-machine connectivity, please note the following precautions:
1. Please ensure the master and slave is the same as the project. In addition to the master and slave parameters.
2. In order to ensure the project runs correctly, it is recommended to use the script. To use the script, the script used in the external address must be added to the [Project Configuration] / [System parameters] / [address] additional multi-level interconnect.
3. Master and slave interface parameters must be the same.
4. In the choice of master and slave protocol, the protocol must ensure that the order is the same.
5. Slave station number must be consecutive numbers starting from 1, can not be repeated.
6. Set the number from the machine the more communication speed may be slower.
7. Using the multi-machine connectivity, it is recommended to use RS485 communication mode, when only one from the machine, you can also use the RS232.
2. Use of multi-machine interconnected on Suggestions1. In order to avoid future trouble, please try to keep master and slave is the same as the project.

*  Check whether the project configuration is correct.

How to download WINCE image on Wecon hmi

To do all these update will make the display of Chinese font available.
You can do it according the following steps:
1. Set your PC hyper terminal as 115200, 8bits, 1bit for stop, none parity.
2. Connect serial cable between PC serial port and HMI port 2:
The pins connected are as:

3. Keep pressing space key in your PC’s hyper terminal while you power on your HMI:
4. If ok, the Hyper terminal will display like following. If not, power on HMI again, and repeat step 3.
5. Select “7” to format the nand flash. Wait until it finish.
6. Select “8” to use USB to download image. Use WECON USB cable to connect PC and HMI. Then the notice will be displayed in your PC for installing USB driver. The driver is in the same folder.
7. When the driver is installed, run the file “dnw.exe”. Use the menu “USB port” to connect HMI, and confirm the status “USB:OK” to be displayed in this software .
8. Select menu “Configuration” -à “option”
9. Input the “download address” like following. The address is “0x31000000”
10. Click “OK” to confirm it.
11. Select menu “USB port”-à “transmit” and select image file “NK.bin”.
12. Then dots will be printed in your hyper terminal, it means the nand flash is been refreshing. It will take about 5 minutes and then boot windows CE.

WECON LEVI HMI In Hybrid Bus System


   WECON LEVI series HMI is well-known for its technology customization. We can customize the HMI for customer’s requests. The hybrid bus system’s power source is diesel and battery. The bus uses diesel and battery when it’s running, and the battery is charged when the bus is stop.
   In hybrid bus system, the HMI needs to display the bus’ speed, the battery power, and the battery failure alarm and other information.
   And when the bus opens the backdoor, the HMI need to display the real time video of the backdoor, to let the bus driver get clear information about the back door the passengers to get off, to ensure closing the door and running safety.
